Public Speaking Skills Have Other Uses

Presentation and public speaking skills are usable in many other communication aspects of life in addition to speaking presenting to a group of people. The skills are useful in day to day conversation, job interviews, appraisals, sales situations etc. Public speaking skills help to develop self confidence, structured thinking and develop the ability to think on your feet.

Effective presentation and public speaking skills are in demand for most careers now. Even for those careers where that has not been a need for good communication skills, e.g. accountants need to be able to present information in a way that is accessible to other managers and not overwhelm them with an endless supply of numbers and details etc. Without good public speaking skills it may hinder progress.
